Provision of Solar Lamp Kits to Isla Jagoliao

TORM Philippines Education Foundation (TPEF) in partnership with TORM Employee Committee (TEC) 2021 and Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities (Seed4com), has provided 30 solar lamp kits to 30 households in Jagoliao, Getafe, Bohol held last December 23, 2021, after the typhoon Odette hit the island.

A simple training was given to the parents and teachers then the solar lamp was assembled by themselves, equipped with newly learned understanding and skills in renewable energy. This is very timely and convenient since isla Jagoliao has no access to power at all.

Aside from the distribution of solar lamps, a DRRM tool kit from UNICEF was also allocated to the school along with Christmas food packs for the families.
A second batch of distribution of solar lamps were scheduled in February 2022.

TPEF is thankful to DepEd—Getafe 1, district, and barangay LGU of Jagoliao for making this Social Development Initiatives very successful.
