TPEF Welcomes New Scholars
TORM Philippines Education Foundation continues to support the Filipino youth through scholarships
New Scholars for 2020-2021
Ten youths were officially awarded scholarship grants for the academic year 2020-2021. Six of them came from Esperanza, Masbate, two from the province of Cavite, one from Bulacan, and one from Nueva Ecija.
Officially Welcomed
The award ceremony was held last February 20, 2020, at Santos E. Conag National High School for the scholars in Esperanza, Masbate. Another session was done online via MS Teams for the scholars of seafarers’ beneficiaries held last June 24, 2020.
The aim of the above ceremonies was to officially welcome and orient the new scholars and their parents about TPEF’s programs, benefits, and policies. They also tackled the training workshops on preparing for college life and social responsibility.
The importance of their scholarship was highlighted during the event to inspire the young scholars to finish their studies. They were urged to strive in pursuing their education so they can uplift their economic status and help their families.
Words of Wisdom
“To all TPEF scholars, aim for excellence in every single responsibility entrusted to you. This scholarship is a blessing, take care of it, study well, be smarter in every dealing in life and I hope someday, you will go back to your community and inspire other youths. Let us work together in shaping a better future”, said the TPEF Board of Trustee (BOT) President, Ms. Grinnabelle Duran.
Ms. Rebeca Conag, the Principal of Santos E. Conag National High School also delivered an inspirational message saying “The TORM Philippines Education Foundation is a huge blessing for us. Never did we expect that there will come a day where a single phone call could mean abundant benefits for us. I did not waste the opportunity and I am very much grateful for every aid and support TPEF has provided. The scholarships for the students and the ICT equipment and training (for MS Application) for the teachers, which we did not spend a single penny is a big help. For those students who were granted scholarships, study well. Show them that you are worthy of this blessing”.
Classes have already begun via synchronous (online) and asynchronous (modular) forms of teaching. Under the new normal, face to face teaching has been prohibited until the current situation improves. Nevertheless, TPEF will continue to be diligent in guiding and in giving assistance to their new scholars.
Congratulations to the new scholars who continue to aim high for a better future!
