New awardees for TPEF scholarship program- batch 2022

TPEF, through its Scholarship Grant Program, officially awarded college scholarships to 11 youths from Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte; Angono, Rizal; Kawit, Cavite; Buenavista, Bohol; and Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

The goal of the awarding ceremony, which was held on June 23 and 25, 2022, at Manawan National High School in Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte, and the TORM Philippines office in Makati City, was to officially welcome and inform the new scholars about the program’s advantages, how to maintain their scholarship grants, and to motivate them to complete their studies in order to improve their families’ economic standing.

In order to foster a sense of shared accountability between TPEF, the scholars, and their parents throughout their college careers, TPEF also sought to involve the parents of the scholars.

During the orientation, Mtm Teofilo Abing Jr., TPEF scholar alumnus, stressed the importance of having determination. “In order to succeed in life, you need to be determined to finish your study program. It will be not easy; it will not be smooth. But be determined to finish the program. College is very fulfilling if you do your part, especially when you landed a job after you graduate.

Before the conclusion of the awarding ceremony, the School Head of Manawan National High School, Miss Linda Byrd Gomez-Segundo, shared a message to the new TPEF scholars, “This scholarship is indeed a gift for you. I hope that you will take care of it, study well and work hard so that you will be able to graduate and reach your goals.”

Following the presentation of the awards, two scholar alumni, Mtm Teofilo Abing Jr., and E/C Eon Rudge Mojica, co-facilitated an orientation session on “Self and Social Responsibility”. The two alumni volunteers had already achieved success in their professions.
