TPEF and TSP to Build Classroom in Remote Community
By first quarter of 2019, the Ambatutong schoolchildren will soon have a classroom which hoped to encourage further a positive climate for learning. “Our big thanks to Torm Philippines Education Foundation and Torm Shipping Philippines for the assistance they extended to the community through the construction of a classroom, and we hope that our partnership flourish. We encourage the participation of the parents and other community members in this endeavor, a shared ownership, for the benefit of our learners,” Dep Ed Division of Mountain Province Adopt-a-School Program (ASP) Coordinator Grace Panitew said during the groundbreaking ceremony held on October 22 in Ambatutong Extension School, Barangay Vudder in Paracelis.
The school teachers welcomed the representatives of Torm Shipping Philippines, Torm Philippines Education Foundation, the construction company, parents, school children, volunteers, and other community members. A thanksgiving mass was also celebrated during the event. An important part of their culture for important gatherings like the groundbreaking ceremony, gangsa were played while the community and visitors joined the traditional dance.
The ASP in Paracelis, Mountain Province is a tripartite partnership of Torm Philippines Education Foundation, Torm Shipping Philippines and Department of Education Schools Division of Mountain Province.
