Laying the foundation for dreams
New classroom for San Isidro Elementary
The TORM Philippines Education Foundation held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new classroom at San Isidro Elementary School in San Narciso, Quezon. This initiative is part of TPEF’s Social Development program and aims to provide a disaster-resilient learning space in this typhoon-prone region.
The classroom will also adhere to the WinS (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools) program standards, ensuring a healthier and safer learning environment. This focus on safety and hygiene reflects TPEF’s commitment to improving educational conditions in vulnerable areas.
Building dreams
A heartwarming part of the event saw students writing down their dreams and ambitions, placing them in a jar that was then buried as part of the groundbreaking, symbolizing their hopes and aspirations for the future.
Local stakeholders, including representatives from the Department of Education, local government units, and PTA officials, supported the ceremony, which celebrated this significant step for the community.
The project is expected to provide much-needed classroom space for the school, which has been struggling with a shortage of rooms to accommodate all learners. This new classroom will offer a safer and more conducive environment for learning, bringing positive change to the learners of San Isidro Elementary School.
