TPEF actively uplifting remote needs

In an effort to enhance advocacy for quality education, TPEF visited Addang Elementary School-Ambatutong Extension School in Vudder Bunot, Paracelis, Mountain Province on December 9, 2022. This is a school adopted by TORM under the “Adopt-a-School” program and located in a far-flung village without electricity; hence, TPEF distributed solar panels, which were much needed.

Prior to the turn-over of the solar panels, a mass was held by the local priest, followed by the blessings and lighting of the equipment. Teachers, parents, and other community stakeholders participated in the ceremonial turnover program led by the Teacher in-Charge, Ms. Amalia Sudkaren with the municipal Mayor, Hon. Marcos Ayangwa, MD. They both expressed their gratitude to TPEF for the continuous support the school has received since 2016. The municipal Mayor said, that TPEF has been a blessing to the whole community of Paracelis especially to our learners and teachers who will benefit from the solar electrification and better lighting, thanks to TPEF.

All teachers received training from the supplier technician on how to look after, operate, and clean the tools. The instructor in charge designated a teacher to carry out equipment maintenance on a monthly or quarterly basis.

A laminating machine and other educational resources, including books for reading and school supplies, have also been donated by the Scholars’ Alumni Association of TPEF for use by the teachers in their daily duties. The turn-over exercise was directed by MTM Teofilo Abing Jr. and Oldarito Naza Jr., two former scholars.
